The eastern quadrant is Blue Dragon (苍龙), which comprises jiǎo (角)，káng (亢), dǐ (氐), fāng (房), xīn (心), wěi (尾) and jī (箕); the northern quadrant is Black Tortoise (玄武), which comprises dǒu (斗), níu (牛), nǚ (女), xǚ (虚), wēi (危), shì (室) and bì (壁); the western quadrant is White Tiger (白虎), which comprises kuí (奎), lóu (娄), wèi (胃), mǎo (昴), bì (毕), zǐ (觜) and shēn (参); and the southern quadrant is Scarlet Bird (朱雀), which comprises jǐng (井), guǐ (鬼), liǔ (柳), xīng (星), zhāng (张), yì (翼) and zhěn (轸).
