When Xi Shi, a famous beauty, fell ill, she knitted her brows and pressed her chest with her hand. An ugly woman in the same village saw her and found the pose beautiful. So she copied her gestures only to look more ugly (Zhuangzi·The Revolution of Heaven). This ugly woman was later called Dong Shi.
