The hanger-on returned and reported,‘The young men at the Wang's are all very good, but they all acted in a reserved manner when they heard that someone had come to select a son-in-law from among them, except one, who sat bare-chested on the eastern bed, eating his meal as if nothing had happened.’Xi Jian said,‘This one will make a good son-in-law.’This young man was none other than Wang Xizhi, who married Xi Jian's daughter (History of Jin·Biography of Wang Xizhi). Hence the term, referring to son-in-law. |
